  The 3rd raise meant Aces!

Played 304 hands on Friday and dropped .38 and the profit turned the other day seems like a flash in the pan. I was playing pretty well and had one table open that I was running over and was enjoying things massively but as usual I made a couple of silly mistakes which cancelled out my good play for the night. Here are some hands from Friday.

This hand stresses why being aggressive with TT is important. We’re HU and he min raises me from the SB which could be anything so I re-pop him. Flop brings 2 Aces and I think he slow plays trips here but he bets out. I raise him and he folds. I think by re-raising preflop he was scared I had of the two remaining aces in my hand.

Another TT hand here but this time I’m beat! Villain’s only been here 20 hands but has seemed pretty aggressive. He calls my 4xBB raise and we see a flop containing 2 Kings. I lead out and he flat calls again. The turn brings a 3rd King and surely my boat is good here. I check hoping that he’ll bet a smaller PP such as 77-99 but he checks behind. River is an 8 and I check, he overbets the pot and I think he’s bluffing and I call and he shows AK for quads. NH sirand badly played by me I think, what you guys think?

Here is an example of why paying attention is important as I thought I’d rivered a straight but hadn’t. Taxi for YP! I dodged bullets again, this time with another TT hand! Villain was a total arshole bad mouthing in the chat and running at 61/19/1.8 over 45 hands. He’d been pushing all-in a few timesand I figured I’m even money more times than not here so call and end up flopping a set and rivering a boat, SMD villain, I dodge bullets baby!

Apparently we want these calls because “in the long run”. This was villain’s 2nd hand played, why do I always attract these dickheads? I don’t usually make a habit of calling raises with KJs OOP but here villain is 70/10/1.6 and pretty weak. I flop TPTK and come out firing and am called. Turn is a blank and I fire again only to be flat called. The river is an Ace and I check and am bet into. I type into the chat box “That is the one card I didn’t want to see” and fold, villain shows ATo and I was right.

The say that the 3rd raise usually means Aces and this time it did. I put him on AK after he flat called the initial raise and then re-raised my raise but it wasn’tto be. Bastard actually flopped a set to take away all hope of a suckout! Is there any need to gobroke here, I don’t think so but me and the ladies have a thing going!

Here is a 3-bet preflop then a c-bet with 77 to take away a little pot and here’s another re-steal with 77. I had to addthis final hand just for the fans of the Hammer! I had a great image at the table and it worked, 72o is in the black!

Sowithout the stupid QQ hand, me thinking I’d rivered a straight and the God awful KK vs Q2o hand I would have turned a nice profit but it wasn’t to be.I’mplaying pretty good at the minute but then the concentration goes and I make a balls of a situation and that is costly at NL. I’m going to get something to eat and fire in a couple of hundred hands before I need to start work at 1500.

Thanks for reading and I hope you KK holds up against Q2o! :)
