I totally pzwned for 225 hands?

…then donked off more than half my profit in a stupid hand! To be honest I do not think I have played as good ever before and if I do say so myself I was fucking awesome! The night didn’t start too well though. I entered the £4k Guaranteed for £11 (.50) and didn’t get off to the best of starts. I was going to play my usual TAG game until 3-4 levels in then I was going to start becoming more LAG once the donkeys were fewer in number. During the first level an active player in MP min-raised to 40 and he got 3 callers. I’m in the SB with AKo and think this is a prime stealing opportunity and I make it 200 to go. Original raiser calls as do 2 others, brilliant! Flop comes 9hJc6h and I have no hearts. I’m not a fan of this flop, especially with 2 callers of my big raise so I go defensive and check. Original MP raiser goes all-in and the other fold. I’m not putting my life on the line this early with two overcards and the possibility of drawing dead so fold and I am shown AhAd. I don’t play a hand for what seems an age until I see AQs in the SB. A player in the CO makes it 200 to go (blinds 25/50) and I push over the top all-in. He thinks for an age and folds and tells me he had TT. Then comes the hand of death, yes I played a total of three hands all game! I am dealt probably my least favourite hand at the minute, QQ, UTG. The blinds are 100/200 but will be going up within the next 35 seconds. I have a 1195 stack so my M is 4 but next hand I am the BB and will have a 795 stack and an M of 1.3 so I am all-in here. I push and all fold apart from MP2 who flat calls. He flips AdKd and the race is on. Unfortunately I fall at the first hurdle when he spikes an Ace on the flop then turns a King and IGHN in 258/413, not the best result I’ve had but I never got anything going.

So after that poor showing I want to play some cash games and fire up a full ring NL25 game but then go against what I said in a previous blog and open a second one up! I’ve always had success at full ring but get greedy and jump to 6-max tables, this time I am going to be disciplined! Anyway, I sat tight for an orbit and didn’t really get involved in any hands on either table and noticed that the majority of the table were weak-tight and ripe for picking! There was one player I was weary of who seemed solid, running at 22/10/3 and had a stack of but I didn’t seem to get involved in hands with her if she was a woman. She said she was a 21 year old English student living in Brighton, images of long legged blonde running down Brighton beach in a skimpy bikini ensued until I thought it was probably some fat 58 year old man sat in his beige Y-fronts eating fried chicken, not good :) Back to poker! The players in my blinds were tighter than a Nun’s nether regions so I stole from them liberally and only once did one stand up to me and that’s because he had KK and I had relative air! It seemed like something had clicked and I was being very very aggressive and winning pots I had no right even being in, I was literally walking over and running the table and it felt great!

An example on how things were going showed here in this hand. I am dealt 92o and the whole table folds apart from someone who posted. I take a stab at the flop knowing villain could have any 2 and he calls but I have seen loads of players call small bets after they’ve posted, so I fire again at the turn and take it down. Maybe I should have raised pre-flop? So many times you can fire a pot sized bet out on a King high raggedy board and take it down and it worked for me again here, thanks for the free chips!

In this hand I changed from my usual 4xBB raise and made it a 3xBB one to see if anyone noticed. According to PT villain is a Maniac and he’s told me he usually plays NL500 (Which I’ve never heard of) yet his Sharkscope stats show him as a fish! Anyway he calls and we see a flop. He’s folded to 4/5 c-bets so I lead out. He tells me he has KQ and folds and I can’t resist but show him my 54s. The table leaves my raises alone for the next 2-3 orbits and I take some little pots and build my stack. I try stealing again, this time with A9s which is worth a raise in an unopened pot for sure. Only the maniac from the last hand calls from the BB. I fire a c-bet as per and he calls this one so the alarm bells ring a little. I check behind on the turn, fearing the worst and when he leads out on the river I fold and he shows a boat. He asked if I had air or a read and I said a bit of both. Because of my aggressive game he was letting me do the betting, hoping he could come over the top, unlucky mate!

Some may say this next hand is reckless but I had reads on both players. TrAAcy was a rock and Donbrando had played very passively and given me a lot of respect. I’m on a big heater so limp UTG+1 with 97s and call the min raise by the rock, as does the other villain. Flop is TsAhTh and I know the rock will fold unless she holds at least an Ace so I lead out her representing an Ace or a Ten. As expect the rock folds but villain calls but I still think I can win this hand as he probably thinks I’m stealing again. Turn puts the 3 heart on the board and we both check. I make a conscious decision to take a stab at the pot if either an Ace or Ten fall or a 4th heart. As luck should have it a third Ten falls and I steal the pot. Easy!!

Poker is easy when Big Slick flops 2 pair! Here Villain has just sat down with and I reckon he’s a push/fold player with this short of a stack. I raise 4xBB 1st in and villain goes all-in for ! Getting 1.5/1 odds my calling range is slightly lower than his pushing range and I call. He flips JJ and the race is on. Flop A ( :) ) K ( :) ) T ( :( ). I managed to avoid a Jack or a Queen and I get a nice pot! I type “SHIP IT HOLLA” in the gay chat and someone asks if I am a sailor, LMFAO!

I am delighted with this next hand as it was purely playing the player and not my cards. As mentioned earlier TrAAcy is a rock and doesn’t like parting with cash. You can see from the HH that people had started to not respect my raises, is this a time to switch tables? Anyway, I make it to go with KQs and get 4 callers! The board has probably missed everyone and I check despite having a rep for c-betting! I felt if I c-bet here at least one villain would raise it up and force me to fold. The turn is an Ace and is a perfect bluffing spot for me with my image. I bet into a pot and as expected all fold apart from the rock who min raises me. I almost instantly raise it to , double her bet. I thought about - but thought this bet was asking to be called. She tells me she’s folding A8s and folds. I show here my KQs and tell her “That’s playing the player, not the cards”. She types “This is war” and I tell her “Fair enough, no mates at the poker table anyway”. This seems to upset her because we’ve had a bit of banter during the game and she leaves soon after! I loved that hand!

Like I mentioned at the start of this entry I played great for 225 hand but this one cost me .40 and over half my profits for the night :( I elect to limp with my KQo and 5 of us see the flop. The villain in the BB bets out RSS_DESCRIPTION.5 into a .25 pot and I raise it up to in order to knock him or others from a draw. All do indeed fold but villain calls. He’s been running at 35/18/8 for the past 40 hands so he could have a multitude of hands. I don’t think he has QQ for obvious reasons and I’m almost positive he’d have raised it up with 99 or 88. I don’t think he’s got JT either as I think he’d have come over the top of me from his previous plays so I think he’s on A9, A8, 98 or 76 and I’m ahead of all but one of the hands I think he could be holding. The turn brings me trip Queens and he thinks about it and shoves all in for .40! WTF! I’d seen villain push once before on a paired board and I stupidly call with my trip Queens and he shows 88 for a turned full house. I don’t think I should pay him off here because I’m behind to so many hands now it is unreal. I guess I got cocky and let the fact he was very very aggressive post flop influence me. HEE-HAW ;)

And that as they say is that! I won a couple of small pots after than to take my winnings to .15 and a win rate of 11.64PTBB/100, nice result but it should have been much much nicer! My VP$IP over the 226 hands was 23.89% with a PFR of 10.18% and a total aggression factor of 6.14 and I really enjoyed it. The confidence is back as I didn’t get particularly great cards or the boards to go with them but things went swimmingly to say the least!

I’m not sure how much pokery I’ll get done this weekend as I have got my little boy sleeping over tonight for the first time me and his mum split up over 2 years ago so I’m quite excited about that. He’ll probably be in his own little world by 2130-2200 so I might get an hour in. I’m working behind the bar Saturday night so probably won’t risk playing as we like to have a beer or two on Saturday nights! I should however get 3-4 hours in on Sunday morning and this could be enough to clear my bonus as I’ve now cleared 84% of the first and only need another 40 MPP’s to release it.

Thanks for reading this long brag post and best of luck at those crazy ass tables :)
